about flight schedule?
this is very important so please only leave an answer if you know. i'm going to fly from sacramento to New york, and i have one big baggage so I have to check in the baggage in the flight. however, i leave from sacramento and go to washington. I stay in washington for 40 mjinutes(it says "change airplane") and then go to new york. does this mean I have to get my baggage and check it again? or i ddont have to worry about that and they'll take care of everything? it's weird because i'm doing this through orbitz but i dont know. the following is the schedule US Airways 6594 Operated by: UNITED AIRLINES -- UA Economy Airbus A319 Food for purchase 4hr 51min 2365 miles Depart: 6:50am morning Sacramento, CA Sacramento International (SMF) 1 stop Arrive: 2:41pm afternoon Washington, DC Washington Dulles Intl (IAD) Change planes. no they change your bag automaticly at least it was the last time i went maybe i changed after9/11

the airline is responsible for getting your luggage to your other plane so your answer is no you do not have to claim it again. good luck though 42 minutes isnt much time

Nope, your bag will be transferred for you. To verify it, make sure your you bag stub (the sticker with your bag tag #) has both flights on it when, but since you are staying on the same airline, I don't see any reason it wouldn't.

I'm 14 and I've flown on 4 different planes in 1 week from TRI(tn/va) to CLT(nc), from CLT to RSW(fl)..then vise versa about 5 days later...I didn't have to worry about any of my luggage...the "Change airplanes.Time between flights" means how much time the layover or how much time you have to at the airport is between flights...your luggage should be just fine!!

Actually, they won't let you take your baggage out at IAD even if you want to. When you check in, the baggage tag will automatically print out barcode to your final destination. You have no choice.
